Consultation organised by the President on Slovenia’s Climate Strategy

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, organised a follow-up consultation on climate future at the Presidential Palace today. This meeting focused on what can be done in Slovenia so that the content of our climate strategy is good, feasible and sustainable in order to enable a safe and pleasant future for our next generations.

Seven months have passed since the first consultation on climate future. Increasingly more attention is being paid to climate future at home and abroad in all fields and by all generations, which is why this topic requires the full attention of politicians and experts.
The purpose of this follow-up consultation is to review the current procedure of forming Slovenia’s long-term climate strategy by 2050, which must be drafted by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia by the end of 2019 and adopted by the National Assembly.
In addition to environmental experts and government representatives, the President also invited the representatives of parliamentary parties to this consultation session.
