President Pahor is hosting a meeting between the presidents of Slovenia, Austria, and Croatia

The Austrian President, Alexander van der Bellen, and the Croatian President, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, are on a working visit to Slovenia at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor. This year's meeting between the presidents of Slovenia, Austria, and Croatia is the fifth such meeting. This time, it is taking place in the Brda Hills.

The main topic of this year’s trilateral meeting is the future of the European Union. The presidents discussed the priorities of Austria’s presidency of the Council of the EU, which started on 1 July, and other current topics.

Presidents Pahor, Van der Bellen, and Grabar-Kitarović paid special attention to the strengthening of friendly relations between the neighbouring countries, and they also focused on the situation in the region of South-Eastern Europe. In this regard, they discussed the continuation of the European perspective of the countries in the Western Balkans and migration. The presidents also discussed the observance of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, remembered by the world this year.

In the evening, the presidents will also attend a concert by the Youth Symphonic Orchestra of the State of Styria at the Slovenian Philharmonics commemorating the beginning of Austria’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. The concert is taking place under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia and the President of the Republic of Austria.
